Noam (Naim) Basson was a prominent, world renowned Israeli artist. His sculptures, drawings, jewelries and medals have been presented by the Israeli government and other public organizations, as official gifts to various people around the world.
Basson’s “Peace Sculpture” was presented to Dr. Henry Kissinger by
Israel’s defense minister, Shimon Peres, after Yom Kippur war. Another “Peace Sculpture” was presented to U.S. president, Jimmy Carter after the Camp David peace agreement was signed.
Basson’s “Peace Sculpture” has been presented in the permanent art collection of the White House. The picture of the “Peace Sculpture” shown here was signed by Dr. Kissinger. “The Unity Sculpture” was presented to Pope John Paul The II, and is currently on display at the Vatican’sMuseum of Modern Art
Basson’s kinetic “Unity Sculpture”, made of 24k gold plated bronze, was presented to Pope John Paul the Second, by the artist as a result of the Pope’s call for forgiveness from the Jewish people. The picture at the left hand side was signed by His Holiness. The “Unity Sculpture” is made up of two elements, symbolizing the Jewish and Christian beliefs: a seven stemmed menorah (seen above), which can be turned into a cross, as seen in the picture signed of the Pope.
Basson’s “Dove of Peace” was given to the late King Hussein of Jordan as an official gift from the United Jewish Appeal (UJA) after the signing of the peace accord with
Israel. “Israel” and “The Dove“, designed by N. Basson, were
Israel’s first kinetic medals coined by the Israel Government Coins and Medals Corporation. These kinetic medals consist of several inter-connected parts, which can be changed and rotated – a first in coin and medal design. Basson’s name is in the Guinness Book of World Records for the “World Largest Mezuzah” located in the Israeli Experience building, Old Jaffa.Basson’s works of art can be found in major hotels and public buildings and Cities in Israel and around the world, also in the following private and official collections of:
